Ways to Get Involved

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teachings, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer."  These words from Acts 2:42 guide us as we seek to know Christ and to make Him known. We welcome you to come and share in our life together!

Opportunities for Involvement

Weekly Worship

Worship is the heart of our life together. Join us as we gather weekly in God's presence to sing His praise, lift our prayers, and be fed and nurtured with His Word and sacraments. For the musically inclined, we have an active volunteer choir always ready to welcome new members!

Bible Studies

Each Sunday and at other times, we offer classes and studies for all ages. Classes focus on the Bible and our foundational Christian beliefs as we seek to better know what we believe and why.

Fellowship Gatherings

We love to get together! And in a time of increased division and polarization all around us, we are working hard to keep our fellowship strong. Below is a small sample of some of the fellowship opportunities we enjoy:

  • Potluck meal after worship on the fourth Sunday of each month
  • Two women's fellowship groups
  • Weekly Trivia Night at Lost Street Brewery
  • Monthly Needle Club, for those who enjoy needlework of all kinds

Care and Outreach

We are called to put our faith to work by loving others as Christ first loved us.  Internally, we seek to be strong by providing prayers, encouragement, and meals for our congregation members during times of need. Externally, we seek to offer our support in helping to meet the needs we see around us.

  • Care baskets for homebound members
  • Cards of support and encouragement
  • Christmas Caroling to homebound members and local skilled nursing facilities
  • Clothing, hygiene, and gift drives for Durant schools and local skilled nursing facilities
  • Regular participation in Meals on Wheels
  • Support for local events like Colton's Run and Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival

Committees and Teams

The ministries of the church belong to the whole church. Our various committees and teams help to equip our congregation for the life and work of faith. All active members are welcome and encouraged to offer their gifts and wisdom by participating in the work of any of the following committees and teams.

  • Worship Committee
  • Christian Education Committee
  • Stewardship and Personnel Committee
  • Care and Nurture Committee
  • Building and Grounds Committee
  • Kitchen Team
  • Audio/Visual Team
