What is Worship Like?

Our Sunday worship services follow a traditional order of Reformed worship. Each week's service features prayers, hymns, Scripture and sermon. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. A more thorough description of our worship services and beliefs can be found under the "About FPC" tab.

How Should I Dress?

Please come as you are! You will find that some of us dress more casually, while others still prefer a shirt and tie. However you come and whoever you are, you are welcome here!

Are Children Welcome?

In a word, absolutely! We believe it is important for children to be present in worship. Your children are welcome to participate as fully as they are able and inclined. And please don't worry about a little noise, we believe the presence of children is the surest sign the church of God is alive and well! If you feel you need it, you are also welcome to make use of the cry room located just outside the sanctuary doors.

The Gospel: Christ For You!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." - John 3:16-17

"Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-29

"This is a saying that is worthy of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of which I am the chief one." - 1 Timothy 1:15

"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world." - 1 John 2:2

The word "gospel" means "news," in particular the good news about who Jesus is, and what He has done. But, more importantly, what makes this news "good" is that all of this is for you!

Whoever you are, whatever you have done, whatever has been done to you: the good news is yours if you'll only leave it all behind, drop it at His feet, and believe (Acts 16:30-31).

Jesus once told the story (Luke 15:11-32) of a son who asked his father for his inheritance, and then took off leaving his father and brother behind to tend the family farm. After squandering the inheritance, he was left to live in destitution.  Desperate, he worked up the courage to return home, hoping to throw himself on his father's mercy and beg for the chance to be welcomed back not as a son but simply as a servant. Nearing the family home, he noticed his father running down the road toward him with arms wide open.

Dear friend, God does not wait for you to come and find Him, He's come for you! That's who Jesus is: all of God's promises and blessings, God Himself, wrapped in flesh and bone (John 1:14). He is God with you, God for you!  So turn from what was, and live what now is!  Repent and believe!
